Full of Purpose

“I know that you can do everything and that no purpose of yours can be withheld from you.” – JOB 42:2

Life is one of the greatest gifts of our heavenly Father but, with this great gift, there will be times of trial, tribulation, and uncertainty. Regardless of those times, there is a purpose! Our Father doesn’t give us life without purpose and even in the mist of the trials we face He can still produce a purpose.

One of the best things that could happen, and usually does happen in times of uncertainty, is what I call the “pause;” where you’re just trying to make sense of it all asking questions like… “What am I supposed to do?” or “Lord what purpose do I have in this life?”  and “How do I make sense of all of this?”  In all of this confusion, the devil is also at work in our uncertainties, filling our mind with doubt, worry, anger and lack of purpose. He is the author of confusion, and he pulls us away from our purpose to make us feel worthless.

Above we see one way to pause that’s full of questions and doubt and letting the evil one drive us away from the Father and His purpose. It is written in God’s word that the thief’s purpose is to “steal, kill and destroy.” That is his end game.

But we have a heavenly Father Who has given us purpose, meaning, direction, and life; a rich and satisfying life full victory! So take time and pause and instead of asking God with a worried heart ask God with a willing heart a determined heart saying… “God, in these times of uncertainties let Your purpose take place.” Think of this pause as His preparation to propel us into a greater start into abundant life!

Take the time and just talk to your Father… Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is His ear too deaf to hear your call. (Isaiah 59:1) So take time and talk to God and let Him take this pause to push us forward into purpose.

My hope for this post is to show that the pause we all face in life has a purpose, but it all starts with how we choose to face it. Do we choose to face it in defeat or in victory? When we keep our eyes on the VICTOR we know that this pause will bring VICTORY!

So as we keep our eyes on the Lord there is nowhere to go but forward. Forward in the hopes and expectations in our lives and in the Lord. One of my favorite scriptures is John 1:4, which says, “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone.” We are all created for life, with purpose.

We already know that the enemy’s purpose is to take life, but it tells us in the word that God has made us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith! As scripture says it is “through faith a righteous person has life.” PURPOSE. (Romans 1:17) So in the time of this pause let’s keep our eyes on HIM, our hopes in HIM, and our expectations in HIM; working for and towards the Lord in everything we do. “By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.” (1 Timothy 6:19)

God loved us even before He made the world and He has a plan for us. He even says it in Jeremiah 29:11, when He says “I know the plans I have for you… They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” What could be any greater news than that?! That we have a Father Who gave us a life full of meaning and purpose so that if we simply believe fully and trust fully in Him we will have an ABUNDANT life of purpose and of power. So in this pause wait quietly before the Lord for our victory comes from Him! (Psalm 62:1)

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans) 15:13

When life brings us to a pause let’s use that opportunity to put our eyes back on Christ, to have that conversation, to have that heart to heart, to let the power of His name reveal power and purpose in our lives.

So let’s do this! Let’s run with purpose in every step!
